The content that I mentioned earlier are great and I learn a lot from it. Apr 05, Ned rated it liked it Shelves: self-help. The book is trying to transform the way people think. Namely focus on the positive side of the things and be grateful for what you have. In a way it is similar to concepts that are in books similar to the "The Secret" however the author offers some practical tests.
What is good is that the book actually is geared towards taking action. Which is great and I am full onboard with that. The reason for only the 3 stars is that some of the concepts didn't resonate with me and I thought as contradictor The book is trying to transform the way people think.
The reason for only the 3 stars is that some of the concepts didn't resonate with me and I thought as contradictory. For me the best part of the book is the conversation with the monk Dr. Boondham, what the monk talks about it is part of the Buddhist teachings and if you look deep into the meaning, it is the crux of the most of the things.
Some concepts that stood out for me from the book: - be grateful for the things you have and begin your day with gratitude - belief that whatever you want to achieve is doable and you will be able to do it - don't act like a victim, take responsibility in what is happening in your life - you got to align your actions, thinking process and body language to achieve your goals Oct 16, Jonathan H.
Later rated it it was amazing. This is my second time reading this book. What's amazing is that I read it during the same month, two years ago. Have you read Think and Grow Rich? If you haven't this is a great companion to that book. But this book could, in my perspective, be considered as a 21st century Think and Grow Rich. Many of the ideas were directly taken from that book. However, here we Daniel giving you personal stories from his life that show you that anything is possible.
For some, I can underst This is my second time reading this book. For some, I can understand how this book can seem way too positive. But that's the point of this book. It's meant to bring you to a higher self-awareness, placing you in a good mood, to get you going on the next big thing in your life.
The author wants you to accomplish all that you can and he even gives you tips and exercises that you can perform daily. I highly recommend this to the one who is ready to take action and change their life. This is for the person who is ready to sit down and perform the exercises to completion. For the one who is ready to change their life right now. I enjoyed it and hopefully you will too. Jun 04, Shari Kaeding rated it it was ok. I had this book lying around since when I got to read up until page and then stopped because it bored me.
It also feels like a lot of the ideas have been quickly grasped from other self help books. I still give it two stars because I understand the concepts the author tries to portray..
Nov 13, Srividhya G rated it it was ok. You Do - Daniel Chidiac The title and the cover page the T erased with a eraser is interesting but unfortunately the book did not impress me. I felt the author has read too many self help books and picked what ever he found useful or implemented in his life and made a book out of it. Too lengthy book. I liked the narration.. A few instances I did like in the book.. But most loo Who Says You Can't?
But most looked repetitive of what I already have read from other self help books. Looking forward for more publications from him in future cause he sure has good writing skills but hope he writes his original thoughts. If anybody stepping in for the self help genre can read this book.. But not recommended for people who have read famous authors on self help and motivational genre.
Can give a skip May 21, Ryan rated it liked it. Chidiac is not much of a writer. The book is chock full of anecdotes in which Chidiac recounts a time someone was having a problem and he swooped in and changed their lives with a few simple words.
If only it was that easy. At one point he recalls seeing a homeless kid and describes an afterthought in which he decided he had the words to change this Chidiac is not much of a writer. Well, who says you can't? A moment came in Daniel Chidiac's life when he realized he wasn't living his truth. His work didn't fulfill him, his relationships hurt him, and he was making choices that didn't align with his true values.
